However, after using this site for a few months, the administrator decided to start demanding payment and/or photo submissions as payment. He called those who were not contributing in one of these ways "lurkers" and gave a week for the so-called "lurkers" to pay money or contribute photos. At the end of the week, he took action to prohibit "lurkers" from accessing the site and closed registration to new users.

I feel this is an attempt at extorting money from site users who have no desire to pay. He said he changed the extension from .com to .org because he wasn't selling anything. This has certainly become misleading because now he charges to visit the site.

I was properly registered and want to continue using the site. But extortion is not the way to go. I believe he should reopen his site to anyone, as long as he uses the .org extension. If he still wants to charge for site admission, I believe he should be required to change his extension back to .com. I also believe he should be required to notify anyone who ever visited his site that he has changed his policy and telling us what he has decided to do about it.
