On 8/22/02 we signed up with Sprint PCS as a family. They had
a great deal on the phones and the calling plan was fair. The
out of pocket initial cost was minimal. Unfortunately they didn't
get our phones activated or downloaded with the correct plan.
The Wireless Web was not activated. Actually went with a higher
number of minutes to account for any web usage with the phones.
Nothing radical just add new ringers, images and check news!
Went downhill fast form this point.
8/30/02 - Called Sprint and discovered plan was not set up correctly.
Was informed by rep to sign up on line," It is much faster"
and all should be good within 72 hours and the trail would be
3 months free.
9/3/02 - Wireless Web function still not working. Called customer
service and the "virtual assistant" placed us on hold
for about 18 minutes. Sent an email. Response was it will be
on "very soon" and "sorry for the problem".
9/5/02 - Still not working. Called and placed on hold for 10
minutes. Sprint rep informed me she couldn't help us and was
given another phone number. Called an was on hold for 18 minutes
and counting! Sent another email to customer service.
9/7/02 - Got answer from email and given a special tech support
team number. Called and was on hold for about 17 minutes. Turns
out we still didn't show authorization to use Wireless Web function!
Now it is for sure fixed. Try downloading in 24 hours.
9/11/02 - Tried to download an item and was given error message:
Call Sprint to activate this service! Tried calling customer
service and message was"We are sorry we can not take your
call at this time please try at another time" and was disconnected.
Bottom line. Don't use Sprint unless you have a serious desire
to truly test your patience and get zero results!
