Aol Ripping Off Customers?
I wasn't sure if this was the right site. I read a letter about AOL service and a customer who went through a fraud battle with the company. I also have AOL as an internet provider. I have also been through a fraud case; however, mine is very minor and I took no action...well legal, I mean. I pay $64.12 a month, for AOL service, which is insanely expensive. I pay $23.90 for Aol service and another $31.05 for their Broadband DSL service and other tax charges on top of those. The only reason I still have AOL is because I have been too lazy to find another service, which has since changed. For all the money I'm putting into this service you would think the service would be very dependable; however, that was not the case. I am frequently signed off, receive AOL error messages or AOL is not responding boxes. For $64.12 a month, the service should be flawless. Also, when I first became a member, AOL signed me up automatically for AOL Credit Alert service and Netmarket shopping-another $70 fee. I never agreed to this fee and only found out about it through my bank statement. When I called AOL and demanded to be taken off the service and refunded, they ok-ed me to death and transferred me to other customer service rep. The next representative that I spoke with told me, 'the money that has been taken out for netmarket will just be replaced to your next bill...so you will not be billed next month.' This did not happen and I WAS billed again. I never was refunded that money and never was taken off the list. Then about 5 months later, I called AOL for a technincal support problem. After they helped me, they insisted on transferring me to Netmarket for 'my free $25 coupon for being a member of AOL Netmarket'. The same service I demanded to be taken off of 5 months earlier. I've been a member of AOL for about 8 or 9 months now, and I'm still unsure if I'm still on the list. I recently saw on the news that AOL is a benefitter of many porn sites and pornographic pictures. My AOL membership is really disappointing and I want people out there to know how horrible the service is. I am very aggravated with AOL internet service; I really don't see how I could be the only one who thinks this? AOL is robbing everyone.
