IN reading about another persons complaint regarding NAMCO Pools, I wanted to also add a bad experience. We bought our pool about 9 years ago but had problems from the very beginning. The DE filter was constantly shooting back DE powder into the pool Being a new pool owner, I thought this was some kind of algae and constantly treated for that. After battling this for 2 more seasons, I eventually bought a new pump and filter from another dealer in the area. Never had another problem. BY the way, the original pump from NAMCO was a 2 Speed, which I found out later on was not meant for a pool, but a SPA. After about 4 years of having the pool, we started noticing rust spots on the outside. Figuring these were caused by something hitting the side of the pool, I constantly treated these for the next 4 years or so. Well, eventually, the pools completely split one night, (not at the seem, either), and the pool collapsed. Well when I started dismantling the pool, the entire inside wall was rusty !! There had been tiny holes in the liner. Not enough to cause major water level drops, but enough to corrode my pool until it split.
Bottom line ..... NEVER trust NAMCO. They give you the run around and DO NOT stand behind their products! Please publish so that others do not make the same mistake I did. |
I
was the unfortunate victim of Namco Pools to begin with from
the very beginning we had problems the pool installers said
they were unable to install due to missing parts once resolved
pool installed this is June of 1999,. The few months we used
it my husband noticed the water level dropping we notified
Namco right away they said they would get back to us they
did not we closed the pool not having any other choice.
That winter was very bad with lots of snow our pool could
not withstand the low water level and heavy snow the pool
collapsed. The nightmare begins I get the runaround from
Namco taking no responsibility and told by the CEO of Namco
headquarters in Connecticut TO Bad.
I would not back down
and told him I will not take a loss on a 3 month old pool
we paid 3,000 for. His solution after getting a letter from
better business bureau let it go we will replace the pool
for you cost $125.00 . I asked "What about installation"?
take it or leave it . I had no choice but to accept. We paid
another $1500.00 to have the pool installed again and believe
it or not another faulty liner we have been offered a new
liner. We have told them we have no faith in their liners
and it would not make sense to accept the offer also the
installation charge would be at our expense. The first pool
we ever had we had for 18 years so we know what were doing
as far as care of a pool. My husband was trying to patch
but it is impossible because the whole liner has these tiny
little sand holes. We will win this fight but the stress
is hard.
