Anyone
thinking about buying a domain name, needs to read this article.
Domain name sellers have become as annoying as car salesmen
in most respects and just as dirty. For example, I recently
bought this domain name justicejunction.com through namebargain.com. In
order to change any information regarding this domain name,
including the ISP or DNS servers, you must go through them,
email them and tell them what changes you want done to the
domain name, then when they get good and ready, they'll fix
it, basically its at their leisure.
I've asked them repeatedly to change the DNS servers to the
new hosting company. but after a week, they still haven't
done it. I asked them almost a month ago to change DNS servers
for another domain name that I purchased through them, guess
what? It still isn't done! Now here's the kicker folks, if
I want control over my own domain name, if I want to be able
to change the DNS and ISP crap myself, I can UPGRADE to a
premium account with REGISTER.com. namebargain.com is actually
owned or subsidized by register.com, a leading domain name
seller. So I originally paid $10.00 for the domain name and
they want me to pay an ADDITIONAL $35.00 to UPGRADE to premium
status. So basically I'd be paying $45.00 for the domain name
and the ability to control it's uses myself. What an unbelievable
set up, sell all the domain names that you want for $10.00
a pop, then when a customer wants something changed, drag
your feet and take forever so that they'll upgrade to the
premium status. I don't know about you, but I think that maybe
car salesman have MORE morals than domain name sellers.
