This
person, Rodale appears to me to be whining because he/she
just wants to download porn for free. What BuDDaH says
is true, you don't have to pay, but you do have to participate.
A
few months after I joined, I noticed that it was taking
forever to get on the
board - I frequently got the "too many connections" error. This
was due to bandwidth issues, and resulted in the contributing members being
unable
to get on the board. By the way, I wasn't a contributing member either, I
just browsed the boards.
Some
of the moderators complained about it, saying that they
couldn't get on, and that they needed to get rid of
the "lurkers".
In fact, if you did a query of the members - which I did
- and listed them in order of how many posts
they made you would be amazed. After the first couple of pages of peoples logins,
the amount of participation went to zero. This list went on for thousands and
thousands of names of people that didn't even post one response.
So, I decided to start contributing comments to people,
and get in discussions. How much effort does it take to type "nice post man, I remember the first
time I saw her in Penthouse, my Dad took the magazine away and never said why,.........strange." There
you go, I just replied and contributed to the TFP.
The TFP is not just about pictures a pretty girls. They
have a car section where people talk about the types
of cars that they like or want. They have sections
that run the gamut from tame to racy. Remember, it's a community and
the members shape what that community is about by their
participation. And this is all that they ask of persons like Rodale,
you need to participate. That's all, just participate.
