ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO I WENT TO BANK OF AMERICA TO GET A LOWER INTEREST RATE LOAN FOR SOME RENTAL PROPERTY I PAID A NOTE ON. BECAUSE I HAD INTITALY HAD A BALLON LOAN EVERY 2 YEARS,WELL THEY INFORMED ME I HAD SOME BAD CARDS ON 3 MAJOR BUREAUS ,WELL I TOLD THEM I HAD NEVER HAD ANY OF THOSE CARDS FINALLY CAPITOL ONE FINALLY SENT ME A LETTER FROM THE FRAUD DEPT SAYING YOU ARE RIGHT WE INVESTIGATED AND SOMEONE STOLE YOUR IDENITY YOU ARE NOT RESPONSIBILE FOR ANY NEG DEBT, WE WILL SEND NOTIFICATION TO 3 MAJOR BUREAUS TO GET IT OFF YOUR CREDIT HISTORY. BUT I TALK TO CROSS COUNTRY BANK EVERY WEEK THEY TELL ME THEY ARE GOING TO SEND ME AFIDAVIDIT FOR ME TO SIGN BUT NEVER DO THIS HAS GONE ON FOR 3 MTHS ITS LIKE THEY KNOW THEY ARE IN THE WRONG BUT STILL WANT MAKE IT RIGHT BECAUSE I SENT THEM LETTER SHOWING FROM CAPITAL ONE FRAUD DEPT SHOWING THEY WHERE WRONG BUT ITS LIKE CROSS COUNTRY BANK KNOWS THEY ARE WRONG BUT THEY WANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT I DONT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO PLEASE HELP!
I also received a cross country credit card..it was never activated but i now see there's a $147..fee in the credit bureau. I called the bank they say i owe nothing but having an awfully difficult time getting it removed. I returned the card to the bank ..please help ..
I would like to know if there are any attorney's in Arkansas that are filing a class action suit against Cross Country Bank for their illegal fees and business practices.. Please respond. Thanks,

I have offered to pay this account balance minus their unfounded fees, but they flatly refused me. They told me that the US mail taking over 30 days to deliver my payment to them was no fault of theirs, so therefore they would not remove the late fee, which put me over the limit, and an added fee. They also charge an over the limit fee for each month you are over the limit, whether or not you've made any payments on your account or not. If I had gone over my limit a second time, then I could see the additional charges, but since I was only over once, at their fault, then why should I have to pay the consequences. Also, they call me at least 10 times a day, at home, work, wherever. They called me so much at my job, that I was terminated because of the calls. But that's not their fault either according to them. I have offered to pay monthly, or the account in full, but they won't take it, I have also asked that my monthly payments be made to the original balance, but they refuse that as well. How can this go on? How can we stop it?
Cross Country has billed my wife's account for over the limit fees, late charges and she has the disability ins. We were told by the ins. comp. that once a claim is in and approved they cannot charge these fees. We have argued with them till we're blue in the face but to no avail, even at one point told us to sell our car, and how do we pay for our food ect...They are legal thieves and their customer service people have no shame in there game, rudeness doesn't seem to be a problem with them.
I would like to add comments to what has already been posted about Cross Country Bank. 8 months ago, I signed with Consumer Credit Counselors to help with my debt, due to a change in my circumstances. I was not late on any of my payments, but I could see trouble coming. All of my creditors have been cooperative, with the exception of Cross Country Bank. They refuse to change my payment date to meet the needs of my Consumer Credit Counselor Payment. This means incurring a late fee every month. They have not reduced my interest rate and they will not sign the proposal. My account with them now has a higher balance than I had eight months ago, even though I have payments going to them every month from CCC. They call 2 or 3 times a day, even on Sundays. They refuse to do anything but gouge me mercilessly. I have not found reasonable recourse for this, but I sure want to get the word out about them. They are awful and no one in their right mind needs credit that badly.
Cross Country Bank Visa is a total rip off. I had a balance of $265 and sent them a payment of $50, which would have brought my account down to $215. I was trying to re-establish my credit, and they chose that time to charge their annual fee which should not have been charged until August or September. That caused me to go over the $300 limit, and they then added $37.00 over limit fee. I disputed it and in the meantime, I sent another $50 payment, but then I was still over the limit and and now had a $39.00 late fee on top of it. I now owe them $500.00 although I've charged absolutely nothing and have paid a total of $100 on a $265 balance. BEWARE OF THIS SCAM!!! I've asked them not to call me at work. I work for the government and we're not allowed to use the phones for personal calls. They continue to call. I think I should sue them. I told them in writing not to call me at work. Cross Country Bank deserves a class action lawsuit against them!
I'm at my wits end. I don't know what to do. I got this card to give me credit and it has wound up ruining my credit. I started out with a 500.00 dollar limit it has grown to over 1300.00 dollars And its still growing.And I don't know what to do about it. I don't owe them that much. They have put insurance on there that I didn't ask for. They haven't put my payments on when they were supposed to which resulted in late fees. which resulted in over the limit fees. I am paying 35.00 dollars a month and it isn't doing anything to my balance. I cant afford to pay them the whole amount or even the over the limit amount. Which I don't feel I owe them anyway. I have called , faxed, wrote. And I get no response. Except for letters saying I have ignored there letters and need to pay my bill or they will have to take matters futher.They have no clue has to what is going on. I have responded numerous times. They have not responded to me or my allegations. I don't know where else to turn or what to do .If anyone can help me .I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you and God Bless. Pamela
