| Several
people have asked questions regarding Cross Country Bank and
what they can and can not do. People are tired of the phone
calls at home at all hours of the day and night. They are tired
of phone calls at work (which is illegal by the way), they are
just plain, flat out tired. I know know the feeling, been there
done that. Please read Bill
Collectors, What They Can and Can Not Do for answers
to most of the questions asked here. |

Country Bank is amazing!!! They are the most ridiculous people
I have ever dealt with in my entire life. I have 2 accounts
with them and had been a good customer for years. Nov 2001 I
had pneumonia and was in bed for a month. I missed ONE payment
and phoned it in as soon as I could, which brought the account
current. But it didn't matter, I still received over 18 phone
calls a day from them, even though the account was current.
Then came the late fees, etc.. I have never gone over my limit
nor did I miss any but one payment, and to this date, with all
their fees, I am still over the limit, months later, despite
making every payment on time. I receive at least 2 letters a
week, and numerous phone calls every day. When I try to phone
in my payment, the computer says that there is no payment due
at this time. But I know there is, so I speak with a rep, which
increases the fee from $5.00 to $7.00. UNBELIEVABLE!!! Oh, by
the way, I am not just some idiot who doesn't know how to deal
with these companies, I have 3 Doctoral Degrees and am the president
of a 9 million member organization. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH
CROSS COUNTRY BANK if you value your sanity. |

have not activated a Silver Preferred Credit Card on June 7,
2002. I have already faxed off letters asking that they look
into wrongful charges on my card. I have never had a Silver
Preferred Card. They seem to have 4 different account numbers
for me. This is a very serious matter that needs to be taken
care of. I would appreciate the harassing phone calls 24/7 stop.
I have been called on a Sunday after 9:00pm. I would appreciate
phone calls at least be made Monday through Saturday 5:30-8:30pm.
Please help to clean up this matter right away being that these
charges are not made by me. |

received my monthly statement from Cross Country Bank and mailed
by payment for $47.00. The next month I received nasty letters
stating I was delinquent. I again mailed another payment minus
the late fee disputing that charge they finally took off after
several long distance calls (there is no toll free number).
They finally took it off. Today 7-22-2002 after two and half
months the check for 47.00 dated 4-1-02 went through by checking
account. I WANT TO KNOW WHERE HAS MY CHECK BEEN !!! I contacted
Cross Country Bank and am waiting a response. |

Country Bank strikes again! I'm not a customer of theirs; don't
have an account and never have had one. Two months ago I moved
to a new home and in the process got a new phone number - which
evidently at one time belonged to a customer who they say is
now delinquent. Not my problem? According to them it is. Despite
7 calls from me and several letters, they continue to harass
me several times a day with annoying recorded messages demanding
that I call them about "my" account. They refuse to
remove my number from their calling queue - thinking, I guess,
that I'm somehow going to break down and pay them the money
someone else, who I don't know, owes them. Brain dead or just
plain stupid? You tell me. |

am a Operations Manager for a small Environmental company in
Texas, One of my employees is having problems with CCB which
of course is not my problem because we do keep him employed
with a nice steady income. The problem I have is they continue
to contact or try to contact him through our business phone,
At first I was nice enough to try and help him and CCB because
he works in the field all day and does not get off work until
late in the evening. That was my second mistake telling them
that , The first was trying to help them by giving him numbers
to call back and taking time to get them to him. After about
2 weeks of this I asked CCB nicely to not call our business
number anymore and gave them his unlisted home number as a last
ditch effort to get them off my back, Well what does he do except
change his number. So now I deny him any extra work because he
refuses to give me another number or contact them because it
is his business. It's been over a month now and not a day goes
by it seems without THEM calling ,each new person that calls
gets the same request "TAKE THIS NUMBER OFF YOUR CALL LIST,THIS
IS A PLACE OF BUSINESS!"I have turned it into a game now
to when they call while I'm trying to have quality time with
my family my 6 year old talks to the idiots or I tell them I
filed with the state under the no call law (DOESN'T DO ANY GOOD)Some
days I even tell them I fired the employee. If I tell them to
hold while I get the tape recorder they hang up pretty quick
but without fail they are calling the next day. There is no
way to the top where I can stop this ,no email,no free 1-800
number they have all their bases or _sses covered except for
getting off theirs to find him and collect another way. WHEWWWW!
Is legal action worth it? I heard of a man in the news the other
day that has collected over $100,000 from people that he has
requested to stop calling and the state of New York fines these
types of people $5000 a pop. With the economy the way it is I
almost see a new trend of how to earn money at home by hating!I
do ask that if this is put on your sounding board the EMAIL
address be hidden because I'm sure they probably read your site
because of some sick pleasure they have. Thank you for listening
because the CCB people surely do NOT! David |
