I
made the mistake of getting 2 cards with cross county and when
I did they asked for a work number. I told them I would give
it as proof of employment but that it was against company policy
for me to receive calls from them at work and that I worked
third shift and would not be available during the day. I became
late on my payments and they began calling my work place, talking
rude with other employees thus proceeding to hang up on them
then call right back, etc etc. again I told them not to call.
They said they would not ....LIARS!!!!!....it continued until
I threatened to hire I lawyer and sue them. I also made the
mistake of agreeing to set up payments for three future dates
for the month of August and for it to be debited from my checking
account...They proceeded to take the money BUT did it before
the scheduled dates thus causing my checking account overdraft!!!!
THEY ARE THE STEALERS, LIARS, AND A TERRIBLE BUNCH OF MAFIA TYPE
PEOPLE!!!!!! My advice don't talk to them, get a card from them, and by all means DO NOT give any personal information to them.
Thank you.

A
few months ago my credit cards were lost. I called all the issuers,
each of whose rep responded congenially, including Cross-country
Bank. No one indicated I would have to pay for the card to be
replaced. I received my replacement card in the mail promptly.
I never used it or activated it; it appears they assigned me
a whole new number. I did not have a balance on the card, and
had not even used it for two years. I was stunned to receive a statement
from them a few weeks later charging me $30 to replace the card!
I never activated it, nor did I use it. I thought it was some
mistake.
When I called to report it lost, I followed the instructions
on the flip side of the last statement I had received, which
said nothing about a $30 fee. One month later I received another
statement, this one for $30 for the plastic card, $30 late fee
PLUS "finance charge purchases" fee. June, 2002, I
received a third statement, this time for $92.25 charging me
with $30 for the plastic card, $60 for late fees, and $2.25
in "finance charge purchases fees."
They call daily.
I have asked each rep to give me his/her full name; they refuse
for "security" reasons. I have asked them to sue me
and have given them the number of the law office to which I
want the process directed. "I cannot do anything about
that, ma'am," is always the quizzical reply. This is an
unscrupulous hidden fee. It is stunning to me that they believe
they can charge me $90 for a piece of imprinted plastic, which
I would not even have needed to make phone or online purchases.
Even more repulsive to me is that they have advanced me no credit
to justify those fees. I have, of course, cancelled this pitiful
card and will never pay this bill. This company preys on vulnerable
people. |
