A Killer Among Us
Meet Mr. Ronald Lyle Goldman

Ron Goldman was brutally murdered outside of Nicole Brown Simpson's home one warm night in June. But this article isn't about the murder, who committed it or the ensuing mockery of a trial that followed. This article is about who Ronald Goldman was before his death, not what the defense attorney tried to portray him as. I didn't personally know Mr. Goldman or the Simpson's, nor do I know them now. I felt our legal system did Mr. Goldman and Ms. Simpson a grave injustice by allowing their names to be smeared the way they were. I felt a need to try to set the record straight. Read on and learn who Mr. Goldman was, the real Ronald Goldman.

By all accounts Mr. Goldman was a breath of fresh air in a somewhat stagnant society. He was also proof, in more ways than one, that good still existed in our society. He was the knight in shining armor so many young girls dream about but are told doesn't exist. It wasn't only Mr. Goldman life that was taken, but the dreams of Mr. Goldman, his family and countless others who still hold onto the knowledge the good will prevail and evil will be squashed. This is Mr. Ronald Lyle Goldman.

Ronald Lyle Goldman was born 1968 in Buffalo Grove, Illinois to Fred Goldman and his then wife Sharon. Fred and Sharon divorced when Ron and his younger sister Kimberly were very small. He would re-marry Patty Glass who had three children of her own. They would merge the two families into one tight nit loving broad. By all accounts Ron had the normal childhood. Overcoming a somewhat shy childhood, he blossomed into a handsome, outgoing, confident young man.
At 25 Ron worked as a waiter at Mezzaluna and took the occasional job as a model. His sister Kim said that Ron had higher goals set for himself and had many plans for his future, "My brother was a big hearted, down to earth, hard working goal oriented person who wanted to get married, have a family and be successful.
Down the road he wanted to open a restaurant/club. A place where people could read their poetry, display art, a forum of sorts for self-expression. The club, Ron said, would not have a name; but like The Artist Formerly Known As Prince, would be represented by a symbol, an ankh, the Egyptian symbol for eternal life." This symbol is displayed in Ron's tombstone. Ron got a brief glimpse of show business when he appeared on the now defunct tv show "Studs". When the host of the show asked Ron on a scale of 1-10, where would rate yourself, Ron replied playfully, "Well on my scales, I'd be way up there!"
Ron's family and friends say that women liked him, but would usually end up breaking his heart. Jacqui Bell had dated Ron for a year and a half. She stated that Ron wanted a commitment, but she didn't. Three months before Ron's murder, she broke off their relationship. She remembered Ron's affection and caring nature when she said, "He'd always be there with a rose or have a candlelight dinner laid out on the floor when I got home."

Ron led the stereo type California lifestyle. He loved to play volleyball on the beach, surfing, weightlifting, tennis and was a regular on a baseball team. A player and friend on Ron's team commented, "He was one an inspiration to to the team and an inspiration as a person." Another player commented, "He was one of the most wonderful, loving, giving people that I have ever known."

Ron's family was, and still is, devastated by his loss. His sister Kim, "My brother and I were like two pea's in a pod. We were best friends. I would talk to him all the time, and I just can't believe he isn't here anymore." Ron's father, Fred, said, "It's hard to imagine that your flesh and blood, your twenty five year old had a chance to touch so many people." Ron's loss won't be forgotten by those who knew him, who loved him, his father, "You think it's a bad dream and then you realize that you're never going to see him again." fighting his emotions Fred Goldman continued, "He was a special human being. He didn't deserve what happened to him."
Kim, Ron's sister, had this to say about Ron's murder, "I would never wish on anybody what has happened to my family. But I wish to God it hadn't of happened to my brother." Fred Goldman continued the thought by saying this, "He was too young and he didn't even put his foot in the door."

May you rest in peace Mr. Ronald Lyle Goldman. May your joyous laughter fill the walls of Heaven. May your smile be the light for others to follow, the wind be your breath on the faces of those that you loved. May your family always feel your presence beside them, in good times and especially during their times of sorrow. May you have the eternal peace you so craved in life, and may your heart and soul be at peace always.
