| This has been a difficult case to follow. There have been appeals that continue to this day and the West Memphis Three has developed a large following. Former President Bill Clinton had actually received copies of both the documentaries but insisted he could not help. Musician and author Henry Rollins and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder organized a benefit CD to help fund the defense. Sadly, at the time of this writing, all three remain incarcerated for the triple homicide. I do not believe they are guilty. Having reviewed much of the evidence, listened to numerous transcripts and legal documentation I can not, with clear conscience say I am convinced that justice has been served. At the end of the day, I am free to turn off my computer and watch the sun set, with my fiancée and a glass of wine. I can not, however shake from my mind the thought that America, with the greatest justice system in the world has sentenced two innocent men to life in prison and one to be put to death in a case where all the participants were at the time of the crime, mere children in an adult world that failed to protect them. | ||
